2012-04-04 The Commander travelled to San Antonio TX upon the invitation from LGen Caldwell and on behalf of Gen Jacoby, to participate in the 2012 NORTHCOM Joint Forces Land Component Command (JFLCC) / US Army North Interagency Hurricane Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) Drill on 3-5 April. During this event, the goal was to synchronize Department of Defence support to the state and federal response plans for the 2012 Hurricane Season. This conference provided a forum for executive level discussion on capabilities and activities to better counter the security threats in Central America with this years focus being on the Regional efforts to Combat Transnational Organized Crime. 2012-05-03 The Commander travelled to Laval Qc to participate in the Infantry RV 2012 hosted by 4 R22eR. The theme for the discussion was "The Future Infantry". 2012-05-08 On behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the Commander travelled to St-Jean QC to speak to candidates on the Senior Appointment Course. The Commander also took the opportunity to discuss issues and progress with the Commandant of the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS). St-Jean, QC. $543.19
2012-05-21 On behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the Commander travelled to Yellowknife in order to present a Unit Commendation to the men and women of 1 Canadian Ranger Patrol Group. 2012-05-25 The Commander travelled to Calgary to participate in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Guard meeting and Annual General Meeting of the PPCLI Association. 2012-05-28 The Commander visited the 17th District Coast Guard Headquarters. He conducted strategic discussions with the Commander of the 17th District Coast Guard and his staff on how we are to better integrate our activities in the North including discussing the Canadian Forces Northern Employment and Support Plan (NESP). These discussions built on other discussions that occurred during the Northern Chiefs of Defence (NCHODS) conference. The Commander then proceeded to Joint Interagency Task Force South JIATF(S) Headquarters. He conducted strategic discussions with the Commander of JIATF(S) and his staff reference the way ahead for counter narcotic operations in the Caribbean. The Commander wanted to ensure that Canada's efforts are coordinated and synchronized with those of other nations in the area so that there is no duplication of effort. The Commander also explored future practices that would allow for increased effectiveness against transnational criminal organizations. $13,902.27
